World Book Day at Campie – 5th March

Dear Families,
Thursday 5th March is World Book Day. We know how important reading is for our learning and development so we will be celebrating at school and we hope you will celebrate with us.

We will be reading, reading, reading. We’ll have Drop Everything And Read on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March. When a bell rings, whatever we’re doing we will Drop Everything And Read.

We’ll have £1 vouchers to bring home to help us buy a book we’d like to read.

A storyteller is coming to help us celebrate at our assemblies. Come in
and hear the stories too. She will also be visiting
the nursery on Wednesday 4th March for more stories.

Assemblies will be at the usual times. N-P1
@0915, P3, P4, P5 @1000 and P6 and P7 @1100.

We’re decorating potatoes for WBD! We’ll all get a potato on Monday to
decorate as a character from a favourite book or something linked to a
favourite book. Craft resources will be available from school. Decorate
your potato and bring it back to school on Thursday for World Book Day.

We will be taking part in the First Minister’s Reading Challenge for the
next 2 months. Our challenge is for Campie to read as many books as we
can. We will launch this on World Book Day. Everyone will get a passport to record all the books they read. For every book read, we’ll add a cube to our totaliser in the library.

We’re looking for volunteers to help in our library.
Could you help us? Any questions? Please contact Miss Robson at school.
A big thank you to the ‘Campie Cares’ team from our Parent Council who are funding our storyteller and the potato decorating.

P1C, P1M and P1/2 families – look out for a letter from your class teacher…
