Supporting and improving our learners’ wellbeing

Supporting and improving our learners’ wellbeing is a high priority of ours. Through professional learning we have increased our knowledge of how to promote the physical, emotional and mental wellbeing of our learners. In order to evaluate our progress so far can we please ask you to complete this short survey?  Learners on P4-P7 will complete a similar survey and children in P1-3 will with the support of their teacher, submit a class response. The outcome of the survey and any next steps will be shared via the March newsletter.

https://ask.hashtag-learning.co.uk/surveys/BiBbxq/

Thank you in advance. Your responses will help shape our improvement planning.

Dates for your diary

World Book Day at Campie – 5th March

Dear Families,
Thursday 5th March is World Book Day. We know how important reading is for our learning and development so we will be celebrating at school and we hope you will celebrate with us.

We will be reading, reading, reading. We’ll have Drop Everything And Read on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March. When a bell rings, whatever we’re doing we will Drop Everything And Read.

We’ll have £1 vouchers to bring home to help us buy a book we’d like to read.

A storyteller is coming to help us celebrate at our assemblies. Come in
and hear the stories too. She will also be visiting
the nursery on Wednesday 4th March for more stories.

Assemblies will be at the usual times. N-P1
@0915, P3, P4, P5 @1000 and P6 and P7 @1100.

We’re decorating potatoes for WBD! We’ll all get a potato on Monday to
decorate as a character from a favourite book or something linked to a
favourite book. Craft resources will be available from school. Decorate
your potato and bring it back to school on Thursday for World Book Day.

We will be taking part in the First Minister’s Reading Challenge for the
next 2 months. Our challenge is for Campie to read as many books as we
can. We will launch this on World Book Day. Everyone will get a passport to record all the books they read. For every book read, we’ll add a cube to our totaliser in the library.

We’re looking for volunteers to help in our library.
Could you help us? Any questions? Please contact Miss Robson at school.
A big thank you to the ‘Campie Cares’ team from our Parent Council who are funding our storyteller and the potato decorating.

P1C, P1M and P1/2 families – look out for a letter from your class teacher…

Early Learning and Childcare careers and job fair

There will be a careers and job fair 10am-2pm, on Saturday 7 March 2020 at Queen Margaret University.

The event focuses on the wide range of opportunities available in Early Learning and Childcare – including jobs available now.

It’s a growing sector – by 2020 the sector in Scotland will need up to 11,000 new recruits. Not all of these will work directly with children as practitioners, managers or childminders, but also in support services such as catering.

It’s a free event for anyone who has an interest in this area, or who would like to find out more.

A range of exhibitors will be there covering every aspect of the industry.
It’s never too early or too late to play a difference in shaping young children’s lives.
