Children in Need 2019

BBC Children in Need 2019 will be held on

Friday 15th November

Once again, Campie will raise money to make a difference for children and their families all over the United Kingdom.

This year we will have an Up or Down Day where children can either dress up or dress down for Children in Need (no football strips please).

Donations of no more than £1 will be collected by P6 pupils throughout the morning and Parents/Carers are welcome to make donations too. There will be a collection bucket at the office window.

Beat the Street – East Lothian

We are all very excited about this fantastic initiative to get East Lothian families more active and out exploring our local area.

Your Beat the Street pack should have come home (or be on the way) with a card, a fob and some simple instructions to follow. Simply register your card online at and then get out there walking, cycling, scooting, running and finding those Beat Boxes.

Once you use your fob on one Beat Box you have one hour to get to the next one to earn 10 points!! All the points our Campie Community collects are added up and could mean prizes for our school.

Have fun!!!

Loose Parts Play – Stocking the PlayPod

We are all very excited for the upcoming grand launch of Loose Parts Play at Campie and we are appealing to the fantastic Campie Community (that’s you) to provide donations of loose parts to stock the Campie PlayPod.

We cannot wait for the children of Campie to interact with the loose parts and engage in creative and imaginative play.

All donations gratefully received – please hand into the school

Your Voice, Your Choice 2 – WE DID IT!!!!!!

The results are in for the Musselburgh Area Partnership initiative, “YourVoiceYourChoice2” and we are delighted to announce that our community project Campie Cares was awarded a fantastic £4500.

Well done to the team of volunteers who put together the proposal and thank you to everybody who voted for this worthy cause.

The Cost of the School Day

The recent October Spotlight newsletter issued from the school outlined some changes within the school that are intended to reduce the Cost of the School Day.

1 in 5 children in Scotland lives in poverty and the cost of attending school can present significant financial difficulties for their families.

The Scottish Government wants to reduce the  financial barriers to participation that exist throughout the school day that affect children and young people from low income households.

To find out more about this please visit the Child Poverty Action Group website.

Campie Summer Fair

Saturday 10th June 11am to 2pm

Any donations of raffle prizes, toys, books and tombola prizes and home baking will be gratefully received and can be left in the Parent Room on the run up to the Fayre.

We also need HOME BAKING and VOLUNTEERS on the day.

If you can volunteer to help please contact Elizabeth on 07709256319, sign up online by going to the Campie Community Facebook page or visit

You don’t have to volunteer for the whole fair– any time you can give would be a huge help.

Thank you!
