NEW BSL AND LIPREADING CLASSES IN WEST LOTHIAN

I am writing to inform you that Donaldson’s School, Scotland’s national school for children who are deaf or have communication difficulties, have extended our expertise to also help adults communicate effectively too.

Starting in August/September we will be running a series of new evening classes in British Sign Language and also Lipreading classes. There are classes suitable for beginners and advanced learners. The classes are as follows:

Introduction to BSL –
suitable for beginners, 10 week course

BSL Level 1 –
suitable for beginners wishing to gain a BSL qualification, 26 week course

BSL Level 2 –
suitable for students with Level 1 or experiences signers with no qualifications, 40 week course

Lipreading for beginners –
suitable for adults suffering from hearing loss, 10 week course

Intermediate Lipreading –
suitable for adults with a hearing loss who have attended a beginners class, 10 week course

Courses start at just £50 and they are all approved for ILA Scotland grants should anyone require assistance with fees (see www.ilascotland.org.uk for information on how to apply for funding).
