I am writing to you from the Lawscot Foundation (a Scottish charity). We would like to invite you to encourage pupils who are considering studying law (the LLB) in Scotland, commencing in autumn 2021, and are facing financial barriers to apply.
We aim to support a number of students in 2021 by providing them with a bursary package of up to £2,500 per year during their studies, a solicitor mentor throughout their time at university and access to many career development opportunities.
The closing date for applications is 11 June 2021.
In order to be eligible to apply, pupils need to be able to answer yes to the following questions:
Do you have an offer to study law (known as the LLB) at a Scottish university?*
Is your parental /guardian total annual income under £34,000 and /or do your circumstances mean you would be unable to attend university due to your financial situation? (This can include receiving EMA, free school meals, being in care or being a young carer).
More information, including the list of accredited universities can be found at www.lawscotfoundation.org.uk
The application form and further information can be found at www.lawscotfoundation.org.uk. If pupils have any questions, they can contact me at email@example.com / 0131 476 8128 and I will be able to assist.
I hope this information is useful. We look forward to receiving applications from any pupils who are eligible and interested in applying.
