ELC Apprentice Electrician

East Lothian Council is keen to continue its tradition of harnessing and developing the talent of young people in the local area and as such are looking to recruit apprentices in the following trade/discipline:

Apprentice Electrician (x2)

This apprenticeship is restricted to applicants who currently live in the East Lothian area and (due to funding) are aged between 16 and 19 years of age as at 01 August 2022. (This will be extended to applicants up to 29 years of age who have a disability or are from a care-experienced background).

All candidates indicating in their application that they are from a care experienced background, or have a disability are guaranteed an interview if they meet the minimum essential criteria required for the job (as specified on the Person Specification).

Applicants should be aware that they are only permitted to submit ONE application for ONE of the trade apprenticeships currently being advertised by East Lothian Council.

At Springpod our October Virtual Work Experience programmes are closing for applications next week. The latest deadline is 20th October but many close sooner so please let your students know they need to take action soon if they want to guarantee a place.

Location: North Berwick
This is a permanent full time position. Salary £9ph
Roles include
 Collect and wash pots, pans, plates and cutlery
 Wash and disinfect kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
 Make sure kitchen equipment is properly stored
 Remove and recycle waste from the kitchen
 Unload deliveries and organise the storeroom
Skills needed
 Hard working
 Able to work quickly and independently as well as with others
 Good attention to detail
 Good communication skills
