Pipe Band ‘Aspiration’ Concert
The Pipe Band Concert, entitled “Aspiration”, took place on Tuesday 4 February. Over 100 pupils from Preston Lodge cluster schools performed on the night to a full-house in the School Hall.
The concert was designed to showcase the progression path that our pipers and drummers take from learning on the chanter or stick and pad through to the Development Pipe Band, then into the Novice competing band, and onto the Juvenile Pipe Band where the standard of playing is at a professional level.
Raising aspirations and teaching pupils that they can always achieve more for themselves with hard work, determination and self belief is a key element to what the piping and drumming tutors hope to instill in our young players. Hence “Aspiration”
For the finale a huge combined band of over 80 pipers and drummer left the audience’s ears ringing to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne”.
The evening was also a very important fundraiser for the band and ticket sales, raffle and tombola combined netted the band over £2500 towards band funds.
We would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters, and everyone who came on the night to make the evening a success.
