St Columba’s Hospice Care Photography Project

A message from Diane Ewart

I’m a Community fundraiser at St Columba’s Hospice Care, and we’re currently working on an exciting project with young people across Edinburgh and East Lothian which we’d love to invite pupils at Cockenzie Primary School to get involved with.

Every year St Columba’s Hospice Care produces a calendar to sell along with our Christmas cards and gifts. It’s always a popular item and raises vital funds which help us to support our patients and families to live as they choose for as long as they can. This year, as well as our calendar, we are producing a family planner featuring photos taken by young people across Edinburgh and East Lothian. It will be sold on our website, in our charity shops and through our Christmas Catalogue.

All primary aged children are welcome to take part and no photography experience or equipment is needed, most phone cameras will be good enough quality. We are looking for scenes from the local area showcasing the beauty of our natural surroundings, or well-known landmarks in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Our young supporters will be able to enter their photos directly to us, and a guest judge will pick a winning image for each month of the calendar.  As well as having their photograph featured in the calendar, the winners will get a prize and a copy of the calendar once it’s printed.
