CPS Reading Champions

Our P2-P7 Reading Champions have been busy helping to create a lots of book-related activities over the last few weeks. As part of our Reading Schools initiative, these pupils have been taking on a leadership role to promote reading across the school.

We have filmed a video to go out to The Scottish Book Trust in the hope of winning a grant of £500 for new books. They have also been in charge of planning a book hunt across the community. As part of Scottish Book Week, 12 books and letters have been placed in various windows across Cockenzie and Port Seton for our pupils to find. The letters spell a code message and all entrants will be put into a prize draw! Thanks to all of the local businesses who agreed to let us put up our books and letters in their windows.

Our Reading Champions have been supporting the P1 and P2 family Book Bug event this week and are also in the process of planning a P3-7 book sharing event centred around Christmas. More information will be released about this soon.
