Well done P6!

A massive well done to all the P6s for an amazing Burns’ Supper.  Thanks you to the P7s who piped and drummed the guests into the hall. Thank you to Mrs Becquemont and Miss Hay, the P6 teachers for all their hard work and to the rest of the staff who helped on the night, as well as the cook who came in and made the delicious haggis, neeps and tatties.

Most of all, thank you to the P6 children.  You are all stars.

School Calendar 2020

Just a reminder that Primary 7 are once again organising and selling a whole school calendar (Nursery to P7) in order to raise funds for the P7 end of year celebration.

Photo Shoot – Friday 25th October
Group photos will take place this Friday 25th October.

We would like each pupil to come dressed according to their year group’s theme (see table below).  Please do not spend any money on your outfit as we have specifically chosen months to match events that each year group leads throughout the year, and therefore should be resources within the school should you need anything.

Month Year Group Theme
January P6 Burns Supper
February Nursery (Anti pre-school) Nursery Jumper
March Nursery (Pre-school) Nursery Jumper
April P2 Spring theme (Spring show)
May Teams In Costume
June P7 Last day of school – Party theme
July Competition Winners Family homework
August P1 First day of school
September P7 Camp – Outdoor theme
October P4 Harvest Festival
November P3 St Andrew’s Day
December P5 Christmas

Calendars will cost £5
A copy of the order form, along with a copy of the letter, can be viewed by clicking here.

Please note that we will not be able to accept any pre-orders after Friday 25th October.

Calendars will be delivered as soon as they are available and will also be on sale at school events in the run up to Christmas.  However, if you want to guarantee that you receive one, we recommend that you pre-order, as we base our initial purchase of calendars on the orders we have received.

Book Fair – books on order

If your child is waiting on a book from the Book Fair, these have only just arrived in school with the Scholastic delivery driver who came to collect the cabinets.  Unfortunately this was just as the bell was ringing so we didn’t have time to get them out before the classes left.  All books will be given out first thing in the morning and a message sent via Dojo to confirm this.  Thanks for your patience.

P5B Co-op Adverts

When Matthew Howie the manager of the Co-op heard about the adverts we had made he wanted us to let him use them for the Co-op’s open day in April.

We were so excited that we decided to make five new adverts just about the Co-op. On a Monday we made posters to be displayed in the shop. On the Tuesday we wrote our scripts and rehearsed our lines and then on Wednesday we filmed all five adverts in one day.

Quiet Garden Clean-Up

Today was cleaning day in the Quiet Garden. The Outdoor Learning Action Team, the Gardening Action Team, parent volunteers and Mrs MacKinnon were all doing their bit to make the garden a lovely place for us to socialise, enjoy the sun and have lunch.

WELL DONE EVERYONE! 🙂

Fabulous Assembly Today (23rd February)

Today’s assembly was about celebrating success, hard work and determination.

First we had presentations of Bronze and Silver certificates for pupils who log their achievements with the Children’s University.

Then we all listened with admiration to judo player Louise Renicks.  She talked to us about the importance of a good diet, exercise, determination and hard work.
