EASTER BREAK

The staff at Cockenzie Primary School and Nursery would like to wish you all a Happy Easter.

Staff and Children will resume on Monday 17th April 2023 at normal time.

Active Schools Timetable 2022-23

Paid classes for Term 2 will be available to book from 6pm this Wednesday 1st February. Classes include Cheerleading, Street & Commercial Dance, and Football, including a brand new Girls Football class at Longniddry Primary School.

We’re excited to bring back Cheerleading and Dance this term, both of which offer the chance to develop a variety of movement skills through music, with the Dance classes providing a mix of styles including street and commercial.

The Football sessions offer an ideal opportunity for beginners to give Football a go and start to learn the fundamentals and develop their skills, all while getting active and having fun with friends. These classes are open to all from beginners to more experienced players who might be looking for a little bit of extra practice. This term, we’ve added an additional P4-7 session at Port Seton Community Centre and a brand new P4-7 Girls Football session taking place indoors at Longniddry Primary School.

Our first wave of this year’s Total Adventure classes, starting after the February break, will also be available to book this Wednesday with three blocks of Paddleboarding at the Whiteadder Water Sports Centre. We’re expecting to introduce more Total Adventure classes later in the term.

Most of our free Active Schools activities have now started, although our Beginner Judo sessions with Destination Judo start this Saturday with spaces still available. The Judo classes can still be booked online.

We also still have spaces available for Badminton and Indoor Bowls, however as these activities have now started, please contact Stewart Sands, Active Schools Coordinator, directly if you would like to book a space at ssands@elcschool.org.uk

Online booking for paid activities will open from 6:00pm on Wednesday 1st February

  • All activities can be booked online using our Active Schools Booking Page.
  • Please note that spaces for each activity are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Concessions for Access to Leisure members apply and are available at the point of booking on paid activities – please select ‘Concession’ when booking online.
  • All paid activities are free to children who are care experienced, young carers, and/or registered for free school meals with East Lothian Council. More information below.

Free Access to Paid Activities

All Active Schools activities are free to all. Active East Lothian activities have a fee, however, are free to children who are care experienced, young carers, and/or registered for free school meals with East Lothian Council. All support is delivered confidentially.

To confirm you qualify and to receive your promo code for free access to paid activities, please email ssands@elcschool.org.uk. Your promo code should be used when booking paid Active East Lothian activities online at checkout. If you have previously received a promo code, this is still valid and can be used for new bookings.

Free School Meals application forms are available to download at www.eastlothian.gov.uk/FreeSchoolMeals or contact East Lothian Council by email at educationenquiries@eastlothian.gov.uk or by phone at 01620 827 827.

Please note, promo codes should not be shared – incorrect use of your code may result in the offer of a place being withdrawn.
