Good luck in Primary One, we will miss you all lots!
We are sorry that you could not all attend our Graduation in person but we hope these videos make you feel like you were there with us too! A huge WELL DONE to all our amazing children heading to P1 after the holidays. Lots of love from the Cockenzie Nursery Team xx
The red and yellow groups have been busy finding things in our garden that they could use to make beautiful pictures! I think you will agree they look fab!
By mixing washing up liquid and water the children discovered the wonders of bubbles! We experimented with bubble wands of different sizes and shapes to see how this would effect our bubbles. The results were very exciting as you can see. The children noticed that some shapes created better bubbles than others and the more we blew, the bigger our bubbles got!
We love looking through our learning stories to remind us of all our achievements and experiences throughout our time at nursery. The ante pre-school children should all have their learning stories at home right now to share with their adults and return them back to nursery by the end of the week and the pre-school children will have their learning stories home next week so that they can keep them forever!
Today was sports day! Unfortunately due to the current circumstances we couldn’t invite all our adults but because we didn’t want the children to miss out we continued as we would, without spectators. For this reason, the children had the opportunity to cheer the other groups on from their bubbles.
We had a running race, an egg and spoon race, welly throwing and a bean bag race. Every child that participated was achieving, healthy and active today and we all had so much fun!
The blue and orange group in action.
Look at the purple group go!
Well done red and yellow group!
This week we visited the Primary one playground as our very first transition this year for the pre-school children going to school. We played a game and spoke about our feelings about going to school. The children were very excited and had a lovely time.
This week all our pre schoolers are going for a walk around the school to explore the P1 garden. We are beginning to talk about Primary one and discussing our feelings about moving up to the school after summer! There is more transition activities coming up over the next month…
We watched our caterpillars grow and turn into butterflies. We then took them outside and let them go.
