The children have shown an interest in volcanoes whilst playing with the dinosaur world.
We decided to make our own volcano and have experimented different ways to make it erupt.
The first time we used red cola and Mentos and sat all together to watch it erupt, then the children had the opportunity to experiment using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda at the arts and crafts table.
“lava comes out the volcano and its orange.”
“It will make a big boom noise then it erupts and lava comes out.”
“Some volcanoes turned to rock.”
” If its extinct it has turned to rock.”
” I wouldn’t touch lava it would hurt my finger.”
” Extinct means the lava has cooled down and turned to rock.”
” When I was with my mummy and daddy I saw a big volcano.”
