Nursery Halloween Celebration: Thursday 27th October 2022

We will be celebrating Halloween in Nursery this Thursday, 27th October. Your child is welcome to dress up on this day should they wish to, however this is purely optional and not compulsory.

There will be opportunities in Nursery to make something to wear or dress up from our dressing up box.  It would be really helpful if no masks covering the face or props are brought to Nursery.

Your child will be taking part in traditional activities like:

  • dooking for apples
  • making a spooky snack
  • pumpkin carving
  • joining in stories and songs
  • Halloween art and craft

Summer Reading Challenge

We would like to share with you information about The Summer Reading Challenge 2022.

Each year the Summer Reading Challenge has a different theme. For 2022, The Reading Agency is partnering with Science Museum Group for Gadgeteers, a science and innovation themed Challenge that will spark children’s curiosity about the world around them.

With resources and activities from the Science Museum Group, the Challenge focuses on inspiring children to see the science and innovation behind everyday objects, showing that reading and science are for everyone.

Find out more about Gadgeteers here.

The Challenge will launch in libraries in Scotland and N.I. on Saturday 25 June. Children can also join in the fun online on the official Challenge website.

Physical incentives are available to collect through participating libraries. Reward items, items and Challenge finish dates will vary by location, so we recommend getting in touch with your nearest library to find out more about the Challenge in your area.

Please visit the Summer Reading Challenge – https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/

Please let us know how the challenge goes.

P1 Transition

Our transition activities are in full swing now with visits to the Primary One area to see where we will put our packed lunch boxes and to meet the  lovely office ladies. We also stopped by Miss Murray’s room for a chat.

Here we are at our very first Assembly!

Not long until our official transition week starts on Monday 6th June, please see details below so that you can talk to your chid about what has been happening that day….
