Getting ready for Primary 1

Last week all of the groups had the chance to tour the school with their keyworkers. The children had a good look around, going upstairs, visiting different classrooms, the library, the gym hall and have met the school office staff. At lunch they have had the opportunity to go up and collect their own lunch. The children really enjoyed carrying their own lunch back to their table so we have decided to keep this in place over the next few weeks.

Our first assembly

Today our preschool children joined the primary one, two and three assembly for the first time. The children impressed everyone with how well they sat and listened and also how well they joined in with the singing.

A group of primary seven children talked about their recent experience at camp. Followed by a group of children from the Rights Respecting Group who showed a video they had made explaining children’s rights. Lastly two primary one children were crowned King and Queen Consort in a mock coronation.

The nursery team were very proud of all of the children and we look forward to joining in the assembly again next week.

P1 Transition

Our transition activities are in full swing now with visits to the Primary One area to see where we will put our packed lunch boxes and to meet the  lovely office ladies. We also stopped by Miss Murray’s room for a chat.

Here we are at our very first Assembly!

Not long until our official transition week starts on Monday 6th June, please see details below so that you can talk to your chid about what has been happening that day….

Introducing our Transition Teddy!

We are kicking off our transition activities to help all our children who will be starting Primary One after the holidays.

Over the next couple of weeks all our pre schoolers will be visiting the school office, the primary one toilets and playground.

Our transition bear will be tagging along on all our visits and coming to P1 too, when we move after the holiday (all dressed in his new school uniform).

There will be lots of transition activities coming up over the coming weeks!
