Child Sexual Exploitation Awareness

The training is designed for social work, health, education and residential practitioners as well as foster carers who have regular contact or carry out direct work with young people. The course will raise awareness of how young people become involved in child sexual exploitation, the impact of their experiences and how practitioners can respond to protect and support those affected.
It is important that you familiarise yourself with the East Lothian and Midlothian Interagency Guidance on Child Sexual Exploitation before attending. This can be accessed at www.emppc.org.uk
Applicants must have previously completed Level 1 Child Protection Awareness & Response training.
- Explain the key terminology and definitions in relation to CSE
- Identify and describe the key vulnerability factors, risk indicators and spectrum of experiences in relation to CSE
- Recognise the importance of information sharing and multi-agency partnership in responding to children and young people
