Supporting Young People with Loss in School

Child Bereavement UK and St Columba’s Hospice Care are offering virtual sessions on supporting students affected by emotional issues they may have experienced as a result of COVID-19.

These free online sessions are a pilot and are offering 2 twilight sessions that will each be 90 minutes long.   One for High school staff and one for Primary School staff.

There are 20 spaces available for each session and places will be allocated on a first come basis and we will operate a waiting list.  If the number of people wishing to attend exceeds the numbers available, we will run further sessions.

Supporting Children and Young People with Loss and Change

 What the sessions will cover:

  •  Conversations with children about loss, change and grief
  •  Working with Emotions
  •  Support Systems
  •  Looking after yourself
  •  Resources and Signposting

These sessions will allow for conversation around all of these themes and we will have a suggestion of activities/resources schools can tap into, but also allow ideas to come from within the group.

Dates/times:

  • Primary School Session – Tuesday 2nd March 3.30-5.00pm
  • High School Session – Thursday 4th March 3.30-5.00pm

If you would like to attend one of the sessions please register by contacting; eileen.moulton@childbereavementuk.org
