What are the aims of the Bite size training?

To support practitioners in:

  • Developing their knowledge and understanding of the National Standard for ELC Providers
  • Engaging with the East Lothian ELC Quality Assurance Guidance to identify development priorities
  • Focussing on their role in leading change and supporting staff in taking this forward
  • Developing a highly skilled and confident workforce within their setting and across East Lothian

Who is the training for?

Managers, Senior Early Years Practitioners, Leads and Practitioners working in Local Authority and Funded Provider settings

Each bite size will be 1 hour long via a Google Meet.

  • Developing your induction process

  • Provide an overview of the East Lothian Child’s Planning Framework
  • Provide a reminder of National Practice Model
  • Share the documentation linked to the Child’s Planning Framework
  • Confirm an understanding of the different roles, including that of an SEYP/Lead Practitioner, within the process

  • Share effective leading of learning that is inclusive of staff and child voice
  • Supporting evaluation of planning in your setting
