We are running a series of webinars to provide support to secondary practitioners for the SQA Alternative Certification Model. These subject support webinars will provide an opportunity for secondary practitioners to share practice and quality assurance approaches. Webinars are available across a range of curriculum areas with subject-specific advice and support. United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) – training available
From 1 November 2021, legislation requires all public bodies to embed the UNCRC in their policies and practice. Children or their representatives will have recourse to the courts if they think their rights have been breached. However, having a rights based approach to education has many benefits – it promotes a positive culture and ethos, and contributes to improved relationships, attainment and achievement. Education Scotland is offering training to local authorities so that they can support schools and learning settings with embedding a rights based approach. To find out more contact your local authority leads.
