TILES – Toolkit for Improvement in Languages Eduation South-East

Launch Thursday 9th September from 16.30 – 18.00 online

This professional learning offers practitioners the opportunity to find out more about the Toolkit for Improvement in Languages Education South-East (TILES).

TILES is an online self-evaluation toolkit for languages which has been developed by colleagues from City of Edinburgh, East Lothian Council, Fife Council, Midlothian Council, Scottish Borders Council, Moray House School of Education, and Edinburgh University. It is a practical tool designed by practitioners for practitioners, and has been quality assured by partners including GTCS, SCILT and Education Scotland. It can be used by individuals, stages, departments, whole schools and learning communities.

The toolkit supports practitioners and schools to develop the skills to lead improvements in learning and teaching and in line with a self-improving system.  The suite of training provided for the tool will allow practitioners to develop self-reflection and evaluation skills through collaborative practice, and will ask and explore critical questions about self, students, school and system through practitioner enquiry.

The session will be a general introduction to the website and toolkit, followed by primary and secondary specific breakouts to look at the key areas for each sector in more depth.   All information for registration etc. is below:
