Education Scotland – The Delegate

Welcome to The Delegate

It’s less than three weeks to go until SLF Online and we are delighted to invite you to our brand new Critical Conversations feature which we have just added to the programme.

These facilitated conversations will take place each evening during the conference from 5.45 – 6.45 pm. There will be up to five different expert panel members including classroom teachers, academics, representatives from professional associations and Directors of Education: all chosen based on their experience and expertise, or their role within their organisation.  Attendees will be able to ask questions of the panel during the events.

The themes are:

  • Tuesday – Curriculum
  • Wednesday – Empowerment / Agency
  • Thursday – Leadership

The conversations will be an opportunity to share valuable ideas and perspectives and will invite dialogue around the tough and complex questions that education in Scotland is facing right now.  We expect these sessions to challenge ways of thinking and provide a space for open and honest discussion.

Sarah Philp, who will be hosting the Critical Conversations, has a passion for change, improvement and growth. With an MA in Psychology and an MSc in Educational Psychology, Sarah is a qualified supervisor, coach and yoga teacher and co-host of the popular podcast Changing Conversations.

Sarah said: “Conversation is one of the oldest ways to nurture the conditions for growth and improvement. When we talk about what matters we come alive and conversation has the power to guide us into new and different actions that offer the potential for great things.”

Other panel members will be announced on our social media channels in the coming days, so make sure you follow Education Scotland on Twitter and Facebook.
