Would you like to increase your knowledge of how technology can
expand educational opportunities for learners with additional
support needs (ASN)?
Call Scotland (Communication, Access, Literacy and Learning) runs a 10-week
online course on Inclusive Digital Education which highlights and explores a range of
assistive technologies for pupils who require additional support within an educational
context to address barriers to learning.
Participants will learn about strategies and processes to help them to make the most
of technology, whether that be specialised software or tools built into the operating
systems of iPads, Chromebooks or Windows devices.
The course will be delivered by the CALL Scotland team using a mix of weekly online
workshops, discussion boards and self-study materials, including video
presentations.
The expected time commitment is approximately 5-7 hours/week (including weekly
workshops, contributions to discussion boards, self-study). However, participants will
have access to the University of Edinburgh’s online library and can spend more time
researching and reading articles of interest to them.
Participants who engage actively with the course will receive a certificate of
attendance. Those who also complete a small reflective task will receive a certificate
of completion which can be used to evidence professional learning.
