An NHS Autism Awareness module is now available on learn pro for both council employees and the wider community. Please see the link below that will take you to the relevant sites. It is under the heading ‘essentials’.
The link to the Council site (for employees) is http://eastlothiancouncil.learnprouk.com
The link to the Community site (for volunteers etc.) is https://community.learnprouk.com
The aim of the module is to ensure that staff have a basic understanding of the challenges experienced by people with autism and to provide practical suggestions for supporting people with autism. The term patient is used a lot in the training as the module was developed for a health setting but the training is still very relevant.
