PC04: A consistent approach to learning, teaching and assessment

Wednesday 28th February 2018, 4.30-6.30pm in Saltire rooms 1 and 2, John Muir House, Haddington.

A Twilight Session designed for practitioners working in Early Learning and Childcare in East Lothian as part of a series of twilight sessions to build our ambition to be reflective practitioners dedicated to delivering the highest quality early learning experiences. The sessions provide an ideal opportunity to develop a partnership network and to share practice.

Session overview:

This session will focus on using curricular frameworks, CfE and the CfE benchmarks for the early level to plan and deliver high quality learning experiences for young children. It will look at how to make the most effective use of these frameworks and guidance alongside quality observations to inform planning and to identify progress made.

The session will also introduce the role of moderation in developing high quality learning, teaching and assessment which is consistent across all Early Learning and Childcare settings in East Lothian.

The session will involve opportunities to look closely at curricular frameworks and the Benchmarks for the Early Level. There will also be opportunities for individual reflection on current practice and professional dialogue with colleagues to help inform future practice.
