Review of Teacher Employment in Scotland

Call for Evidence now live

The 2010 spending review agreement between the Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, published in November 2010, includes an agreement to an Independent Review of all aspects of the terms and conditions for Scotland’s teachers. Michael Russell, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, has asked Prof Gerry McCormac to Chair the Review. Recommendations will be published in the summer of this year, aimed at improving educational outcomes for our children and young people.

The Review will be open and inclusive and the Review Group and Prof McCormac welcome comments from all interested parties. The work of the Review Group will be evidence based and all views will be considered before we start shaping our recommendations.
