Andy’s post below has reminded me that it’s been a while since I encouraged people to share what’s going on on this blog. If there is something interesting happening in your school which you think would be appropriate for on here, then please let me know.
We even have a simple form which you can download and fill in to help you to share what’s happened.
Many of us in East Lothian now have access to Google Apps through eduBuzz. This is such a powerful tool and people are thinking of more and more uses for it in education all the time.
Tom Barrett is harnessing the power of the crowd and the cloud to put together lots of examples of how Google Forms are being used in classrooms. This is changing all the time as people add to it, but at the time of posting this was up to 57!
Tom’s got lots more of these in his blog, click here to view them.
The next few CPDMeets are now good to go:
- Next up is CPDMeet17, a discussion on using Wikis in Learning, led by Ian Stuart, DHT in Islay High School.
- CPDMeet18 focuses on Internet Safety where Louise Jones of Highland Council’s e-safety strategy group will share the approach taken to this issue in her authority.
- With a few details for 19 and 20 still to finalise we then jump to CPDMeet21 which is led by Dr Dan Tierney of Strathclyde University on the Primary Languages situation in Scotland.
To take part, select the link above [Glow Login required] and look for the enrol in this CPDMeet button.
Following the publication of the PISA results yesterday (you can see Scotland’s summary here) the OECD has published a number of videos giving an insight into the education systems of the top performers. We’re hearing a lot about education in Finland these days, but few of us have been there to see for ourselves which is why I thought it was worth sharing this video.
You can see more here.
Sarah Laing, an Early Years Practitioner at Innerwick Primary, has kindly offered to share the work she has been doing on developing tracker sheets for Curriculum for Excellence Experiences & Outcomes.
You can download the guide and all eight of the documents by clicking on the links below.
Sarah has asked me to point out that the documents only open in Word 02, 03 and 07.
Thanks Sarah for sharing.
