Today is the closing date for entries for the Little and Large Cooking Competition. Now in its fourth year, this competition offers primary and secondary school pupils the opportunity to take part in a unique culinary challenge. The aim of the competition is to link secondary and primary pupils in the joy of cooking as well as to impart valuable life skills. It also aims to raise awareness of the healthy eating message in a fun, practical way.
In the first round of the competition, which will take place at a mutually convenient time, two P6 pupils from each participating school are invited to their cluster High School and teamed up with a secondary student who will work with and support the younger pupils to create a healthy meal.
The winning team from the first round will then go on to represent the cluster in a county cook off, where they will demonstrate their skills under the scrutiny of a panel of judges. This year, the final will take place on Thursday 27 May at Knox Academy.
