Mass participation of staff and students in Performing and Creative Arts programme, giving individuals the confidence to take on new challenges and reach their full potential.
Increased levels of confidence are evident from the wide-ranging performances which the school has staged. The sheer scale of these events and the diverse group of participants are evident in the list of activities, including the first whole school and cluster event, Around the World in 80 Minutes.
Also our S2 Activities Week was themed to include opportunities for performing and creative arts.
Evidence of participation levels is contained in the Artists in Residence reports.
Staff and students regularly participating in public events to strengthen the confidence and community spirit of all stakeholders.
We are continually looking at ways to involve the local community in the life and work of the school. A number of special events and projects have had this aim at their core: a coffee morning with entertainment arranged and put on by students for local elderly residents as part of the S2 Activities week, Christmas carol singing and the Dragon’s Den Environmental project.
Dragon’s Den Environmental Project.
Increased staff and pupil confidence, resulting in an increase in achievement and attainment at all levels.
Attainment and achievement have continued to grow over the period and we are confident that that results will continue to improve. The local authority and others recognise that the school adds significant value to students from their point of entry into the school. This has given parents/carers and students confidence in the school. We continually strive to improve our results wherever possible. There has been a particular focus on attainment at SCQF levels 5 and 6. This has been reflected in STACS meetings with Principal Teachers and in an innovative S5 Coaching programme Through SELS and Lime Survey students show a high level of satisfaction and confidence in the school.
