Last week at wildlife club we were looking for minibeasts in the playground. We found lots of woodlice and ants, some huge slimy Leopard slugs, flies, millipedes, beetles and spiders. Hamish caught a rove beetle which ate the small spider in his pot! We also made some flower feeders to attract butterflies.
The next wildlife club sessions will be for P4-P7.
At Wildlife Club this week the P1-P3s learnt about bird nests.
We looked at some pictures of unusual nests from birds around the world, and then got to hold some real nests that have been found by the Rangers in East Lothian. Then we tried to make our own nests… it is much harder than it looks!
