P1/2 Learning Log

P1/2 have been budding scientists this week!  We created an experiment to look at the conditions for plants to grow, then planted seeds to test our predictions.

We are also continuing to practice our Bee songs and learning about the different species of bees and the flowers that attract them.  We enjoyed painting some of these flowers and used all of this knowledge within our story writing this week.

P1/2 Learning Log

P1/2 have had an exciting week.  We have started our Bee Green project, learning all about different species of bees and singing Bee songs.  After our visit from Moira, from Musical Discovery, we went to our orchard to  identify the different flowers which bees are attracted to.  We look forward to welcoming Moira into our school over the next few Mondays.

The children are continuing to enjoy learning about Living Things.  We used our knowledge of Living Things to help us with our maths this week as we learnt about Data Handling.  We had a look in different habitats within our playground to count the number of insects we found.  We used tally marks to do this.  We then used our tally marks to create graphs.

The children then enjoyed creating some of the insects they found from plasticine!

P1/2 Learning Log

P1/2 have been making the most of the lovely weather this week by taking our learning out as much as possible.

In maths, we’ve been learning about Position and Movement.

We had a great day at Yellowcraig with Dave Wilde learning about habitats and rock pools as part of our Living Things topic.

We also explored the different habitats within our playground.
