P7 Red Nose Day!

P7 have been working really hard this week to get prepared for Red Nose Day!

We thought of lots of super activities for the rest of the school to take part in to encourage donations.

We then organised a ‘Fun Fitness’ routine for all pupils and parents to join in with.

For our assembly, we researched the charity Comic Relief and found out about how they raise money and all the different people they help around the world.

Overall, the day was a great success. Thank you for all your donations. We will add up all the money on Monday and announce the total.

Well done P7, super hard work. 🙂

P7 Learning Log

Thank you for your contributions to World Book Day! It was lovely to see your illustrations and discuss our favourite books from the past and present P7.

This week, we started to take part in a research project by Nutrition students from Queen Margaret University. Over the coming weeks, we are going to be exploring more about healthy and sustainable food choices including some fun practical sessions.

We have also been looking at biographies and did some fabulous presentations about inspirational people today. Selected by the class, these included Barack Obama, Emma Watson, Winston Churchill and Albert Einstein.  Well done P7! 🙂

P7 Learning Log

Another busy week of learning in P7, beginning our work on biographies and fractions.

We have also been doing some cooking with Mrs Richardson this week in small groups. We made a range of vegetable muffins;

  • Cocoa and courgette
  • Carrot
  • Rhubarb

We tried them all and gave them a rating. Most (!) of P7 liked them as a healthier choice and enjoyed making them.

P7 have also been developing their drama skills with Miss Johnston, exploring different genres and a variety of props using their imagination to create a plot.

Food for Thought Live Cook-along Session

This week, P7 had an exciting opportunity to take part in a live cook-along session as part of our Food for Thought project.

We watched Chef Alison on a live stream and followed her instructions to make a Sensational Veggie Noodles!

We worked well in groups showing off our safe cutting skills.

The end product was lovely and the children and staff who  tasted some commented on how delicious it was!

I hope you all have a lovely February break and I will see you back ready to learn next Tuesday 🙂
