Online Payments

The new online payments system for schools, IPayimpact, went live on Tuesday 25 September.  Every student was given a letter this week with instructions for parent/carers and a unique ID for them to log in to the new system. S4/5/6 Monitoring and Tracking Reports

Parent and Carer Survey

We are looking to refresh the school Vision, Values and Aims.

All students have had the opportunity to share their views on DGS values through surveys which were completed in registration classes.  We now would like to seek the views of our parents and carers in terms of what school values are important to them.  This survey consists of just one question:

S2 Learner Experience Validated Self Evaluation

On Tuesday, S2 classes were shadowed by teachers from DGS and colleagues from other schools as part of a validated self-evaluation. The observers commented on the extremely positive relationships between students and staff and were impressed with the quality of the learning experiences. Thank you to parents and carers who attended the focus group, your contributions were extremely valuable.

AH Biology Trip to Kindrogan


Last weekend 8 students from our AH Biology class travelled to Kindrogan Field Studies Centre just outside Pitlochry to develop their field studies skills. They enjoyed a weekend of glorious sunshine and learned about sampling techniques, statistics and investigative design. The area has an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, deer and even a few pine martens! Our students were a credit to the school with staff commenting on their enthusiasm and maturity.

S1/2 Dance

A group of senior students organised a school dance on Tuesday evening for S1 and S2 students to raise funds for their trip to Morocco summer 2019.  Everyone had a great night and managed to raise £900. Well done to everyone involved!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Staff had a Macmillan Coffee Morning during morning break on Wednesday, and raised over £200! Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Sports Awards Evening

On Thursday 4 October we are holding an awards evening to celebrate the Sporting Achievements of our students. Letters were given to successful students this week, returns are now due back.

S2 Activities Week

We launched our S2 Activities Week 2019 last week at assembly.  Students were given letters to take home with details, including a payment plan: S2 Activities Week Letter.  Returns are due back on Monday 8th October.  If you have any queries, please contact Mr Maxton at the school.

Photograph Permission Forms

New photo permission forms for under 12s will be given to students to take home. Students over 12 years of age will be completing these forms themselves next week. Please see forms below:

Education Maintenance Allowance

The EMA Application process for the 2018/19 School Session is now open, the application form and guidance notes can be downloaded from here: https://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/emaforms

Applications must be received by 30 September 2018 in order for the payments to be backdated to the start of term.
