On Tuesday 28 May we held our S3 Ceremony. Students were presented with certificates marking the end of their Broad General Education phase. On this day we celebrated the talents and successes of this year group. The event was well attended by parents and carers. The audience was impressed by the many moving performances from the students who took a lead role in organising the whole event. A big thank you to all the students involved, staff helpers and parents/carers.
Your son or daughter has been working on a personal profile all year. This profile is a reflection of their achievements and experiences from the broad general education. The profile is stored on Edubuzz, East Lothian Council’s secure online cloud. If you wish to see the profile ask your child to share it with you on gmail or they can download a copy for you to keep on your computer’s hard drive. We recommend that all parent/carers have a good look at these as they represent an excellent record of students’ progression throughout the first 3 years at Dunbar Grammar School.
We are always striving to improve and would therefore appreciate any feedback on this year’s event. Any suggestions or comments, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust are coming in on Friday 7 June to speak to new S2, period 1. Please see the attached: TCT 2019
Active Schools has challenged the cluster schools to Run to Tokyo by July 2020. The reason for Tokyo is that the summer Olympics take place in 2020 in Japan.
The cluster has to cover 5720 miles which between 6 schools and best part of 2400 pupils sounds easy. This works out 133 miles per week over 43 school weeks starting first week of June 2019. However the miles have got to be done at the run clubs before school. Scott Marnoch will keep track of how many miles are covered each week and keep a running total.
Example of how tough the challenge will be during the winter months the total for the cluster miles covered during the weeks was less than 100.
- Who: DGS Pupils

If you have any information on DGS students’ sporting achievements out with school, we would love to hear from you. This would be any pupil participating at County level or above. Please email email@example.com with details and photos.
