There will be a drop in for parents and carers between 4-6pm in the social space next to the school office. This will be an opportunity to ask questions about the process and discuss how best to support your child.

Tuesday 17 September

Students thinking about applying to University will attend the UCAS Higher Education Convention, our slot is between 10.30am and 12.30pm. There is a bus booked to take us and bring us back to school. Pupils are required to sign up for this themselves and information on how to do this can be found on the UCAS 2020 google classroom, code 7l7j9d.

Join us to celebrate and share the work of our pupils undertaken this week.

Edinburgh Book Festival

At the Edinburgh Book Festival trip this week we heard fascinating accounts of colonial life and history from authors of young adult books, Candy Gourlay and Elizabeth Jones, then went to an interactive fun event where Thomas Clark, translator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid into Scots, spoke about the popular series, giving us a bit of a language lesson at the same time. Our students were game to try anything and Jamie Humphreys, Annie-Rose Dickson and Ollie Marshall were brave enough to appear on stage to respectively act a scene, answer a quiz and quiz the audience. It was a wonderful outing and author Thomas Clark afterwards sent a message praising our students.

Parents and Carers: can you help? A large number of DGS library books are overdue or missing. We would very much appreciate it if you would help find them (under beds is a common place to do so!) and hand them in either to the school office or at Dunbar or East Linton Library. Thank you!
