A reminder that the school is closed on Friday 13 September and Monday 16 September.
Whole School Photograph
The whole school photograph unfortunately was postponed due to high winds. This has been rescheduled for the morning of Tuesday 29 October.
All S1s attended a talk by well-known author Linda Newbery who was in Scotland promoting her new book The Key to Flambards, which was inspired by the Flambards series by KM Peyton, a modern classic. We enjoyed hearing too about her other books, and she told us how she wanted to be an author from a young age, but, like many others, had her early books rejected by publishers at first. Students asked very good and interesting questions, and some had the opportunity to get books signed and to meet Linda Newbery at the end of the talk.
Attainment & Achievement Awards Evening
Students selected for an award were given letters last week inviting them and their parents/carers to the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 11 September. Those attending should arrive from 6.30pm at the entrance to the new building, for teas and coffees in the Atrium.
S1 Modern Languages Trip Opportunity
Please find attached a letter about an opportunity for a group of S1s to go on a trip to Bad Segeberg next June: Modern Languages Trip.
Letters can be collected from the Modern Languages department.
Senior Course Choice
The last day for making any changes to courses studied is Thursday 12 September. Students wishing to make any final changes should see Mr Maxton.
A pack has gone home with all students containing a PC1 and an Annual Data Check form which is required to be checked by parent/carers, updated as appropriate, signed and returned by Monday 9 September. Packs also contain photo permission forms, email consent forms and school closure forms if we do not hold a copy on file.
S1 packs contain Show My Homework, SchoolPay, locker forms and Home Economics information in addition. Locker keys will be distributed soon.
If you have no email address, it is essential that you inform the school. Where this is the case, we will provide a printout of this weekly information update to students on a Monday morning in their registration folder. A printout is only available to families who do not have access to email. The weekly email information is automatically updated on our website.
