Whole School Photograph
We have the whole school photograph on Tuesday 29 October in the morning. We would ask all students to wear full school uniform. A reminder of the school uniform policy can be read here: School Uniform Description 19-20.
Ties can be purchased from the school office or online for £6 from the school shop in schoolpay.
DGSC Meeting and Presentation for Parents and Carers
Our next DGSC meeting (Parent Council) will be on Tuesday 29 October. We will have a special presentation from 7pm – 8pm around Google Classroom and Scholar. The main part of the meeting will run from 8pm – 9pm. We would warmly invite all parents and carers to attend this presentation, with an option to stay for the meeting if they wished. Please see the agenda here.
We were delighted to welcome visitors from our French twinning town Lignieres. Our students did a great job of giving tours of our school and Joe welcomed our guests with an amazing performance on the bagpipes.
This morning we were delighted to welcome Ellen Wong, Principal Officer of the US Consulate. Our Higher Modern Studies and Politics students really enjoyed her engaging and interactive presentation. Thank you to John McMillan for arranging this.
S3 Monitoring & Tracking Reports
These were given to S3 students on Thursday 24 October. Please contact your son/daughter’s Guidance Teacher if you have any queries.
S1 – S3 students were given a presentation at assemblies this week regarding profiling. All students now have log in details to access their individual profiles and can add to these throughout the year.
DGSA Prosecco Afternoon Tea
DGSA Prosecco Afternoon Tea and Auction – Saturday 2 November, 3-5pm, Belhaven Church Hall. Tickets (£10) are on sale now from the school office or Michelle Mallen (07535 434285). This is always a sell-out event so get your tickets early to ensure you don’t miss out! If you would like to donate a raffle prize, please hand them in to the school office.
Cycling to School
We are very keen to encourage as many students as possible to walk or cycle to school. Please encourage all students cycling to school to wear appropriate headgear and clothing. During the dark winter months, it is particularly recommended to wear reflective clothing and to use bike lights. It is our school policy that all students must dismount from their bikes once entering school grounds. There are bike racks in front and at the side of the school, to which bicycles should be padlocked. The school will investigate any problems, but cannot accept any responsibility for any damage or loss.
Please encourage your son/daughter to give careful consideration as to where and how they ride their bikes and encourage them to be polite to and mindful of pedestrians in the wider community.
We have a large amount of lost property at present which will be recycled on Friday 8 November. If you would like to check for items, please speak to the school office to arrange a suitable time to come in.
Bus Pass Smartcards
Please do not keep your bus pass next to your mobile phone as this can damage the bus pass chip.
