Parents and Carers of S4,5,6 Music Students
We will be holding our annual DGS Music Department Senior Recital Performance on Wednesday 5 February 4:30pm
This is a live performances from our S4,5,6 Music pupils in the new social space.
A common concern among students sitting practical exams is how nervous they become when asked to perform in front of the examiner. The Senior Recital performance is designed to allow pupils to combat these nerves in a relaxed and supportive environment. The event will start at 4:30pm and should finish at approximately 5:30pm. We would appreciate your support in both encouraging your son/daughter to take part in this event, and in you coming along to hear the performances.
A letter has been sent home with your son/daughter on Wednesday 22 January: Recital Evening Letter
Please complete the return slip, and return it to the Music Department by Friday 31 January.

Following the decision taken by the Full Council at its meeting on 29 October 2019, a consultation exercise was undertaken with parents/carers in relation to an additional day’s leave on 8 May 2020 to coincide with VE Day 75 celebrations. The outcome of this consultation was an overwhelming support for an additional day’s school closure on Friday 8 May 2020 with the retention of the already agreed school holiday closure on Monday 4 May 2020. Approval was sought from Scottish Government for this additional day’s closure and this approval has now been received. For clarity, schools will be closed on Monday 4 May 2020 and on Friday 8 May 2020. The attached were given to all students this morning:
