COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

As part of our approach to minimising the spread of respiratory infection, including Coronavirus/Covid 19, we have briefed all students and staff on our expectations of hygienic procedures at the school. Most importantly this involves regular handwashing with soap and water (NHS video) and using hand sanitiser (60% alcohol based) if handwashing facilities are unavailable.  If unwell, students and staff have been advised to stay at home, and if worried about their symptoms to dial NHS 24/111.  We are highly aware that any absence from school, at this time, will be particularly concerning for our senior phase pupils who are about to sit SQA exams.  To support study for any students who may find themselves in this position, and still feel able to work, they can access Google Classroom and online resources such as Scholar UK and SQA Understanding Standards Understanding Standards to support them in continuing their studies.

We are aware that we have planned trips to Belgium/France and California in May/June. We are liaising with East Lothian Council and they have advised that we are to follow NHS and Government advice and take advice from the travel companies involved.  At this moment in time no decisions will be made until closer to the time of these trips as the overall situation is changing quickly. We will keep parents/carers posted as soon as we have any further information.
