Update 21 August 2020

Face Coverings – New Guidance – 31 August 2020

As you’ll be aware, the Scottish Government has announced that, from Monday 31 August 2020, face coverings should be worn by young people attending secondary schools when they are moving around the school in corridors and confined communal areas (such as toilets, social areas, PE changing rooms) where physical distancing is particularly difficult to maintain.

Full details are available in a letter from Lesley Brown (Head of Education and Children’s Services):  Letter to Parents/Carers Aug 20

Please see the following letter which was emailed to parents and carers on Monday 24 August: Covid 19 letter 20-08-24

Health and Safety around the school

Just a short reminder that any student showing Covid-19 symptoms must not attend a school and a test must be booked through NHS Inform.

I would also like to encourage students to wear face masks / face coverings in and around school, wherever possible (including corridors) as part of an enhanced system of our approaches to reduce transmission and to support all of our wellbeing.

Home to School Transport Information

A reminder that all students travelling to school by bus or taxi must wear a face covering unless exempt.

Information Update

A pack is going home with students over the next week containing a PC1 and an Annual Data Check form which is required to be checked by parent/carers, updated as appropriate, signed and returned. Packs will contain photo permission forms, email consent forms and school closure forms if we do not hold a copy on file.

If you have no email address, it is essential that you inform the school. Where this is the case, the weekly email information is automatically updated on our website.

Bistro and Hub Update

From Tuesday 18th August, there will be a limited hot and cold food service available from the Bistro and Hub from breaktime and lunchtime.

Water Dispensers in School

All water dispensers in school are in use and students are encouraged to refill their own water bottles at breaktime and lunchtime.

We now have an “Attendance” inbox for parents to email with student absences/appointments. Please email attendance@dunbargrammar.elcschool.org.uk
