During this week, the usual timetable will be suspended and all students will be taking part in a programme which is aimed at developing relationships between students, as well as providing an educational experience and, we hope, allowing students to have fun taking part in different activities.
Detailed letters will be sent out next week to S1, S2 and S3 students with information on what students need to wear and bring etc. An overview of the plan is :
S1/2 Activities
These will be based in and around school. Students will work in their ‘P classes’ and will have the opportunity to participate in a range of active tasks including outdoor cookery, creative projects, community project work, trying new sports and teambuilding.
S3 Activities
Students will spend three full days at Foxlake completing a range of activities including Low Ropes Course, Archery Tag, Fox Fall , and Ringo Rides, one day at the Belhaven Beach with Coast to Coast taking part in fun beach activities and receiving a surfing lesson and one day taking part in in-school activities.

Parent/Carers’ Consultation Evenings
Next session we will be able to return to in-person parents’ and carers’ consultation evenings. However, we aware that many parents and carers have liked the online format.
We are looking to seek the views of all parents and carers to help us decide what format we should use for next session, in-person or online.
We realise that this may be dependent upon the age and stage of the young person, so we have split this survey into year groups.
This survey will close on Friday 6th May: https://forms.gle/7Rct6WZD2QdNaGNc7

STARS of the Week
Staff
Ms Gibson (PE)
Nominations said:
- ‘She is always so supportive and always cheers on people no matter what! She’s a great teacher!’
- ‘Ms Gibson puts so much work into the school hockey coaching. She is always prepared to take the team, no matter how cold/ dark/ miserable it is, and does so with a smile on her face! She not only gives up her after school time, but also her Saturday mornings to coach at the matches. She is a great person to have around and will always brighten your day! Thanks for being so positive Ms G :)’
Ms Gibson – you are a DGS Star, thank you for all you do!
Students
Angus Taylor S1 (Effort)
Angus is always incredibly organised and willing to work hard to achieve his best. He has been taking the lead in directing a group of S1-3 pupils in rehearsal at drama club and is making sure everyone is involved. He has worked hard at home to devise a script and organise resources. He is always incredibly enthusiastic, genuine and polite and can always be seen with a smile on his face. He is a DGS STAR!
Emma Cameron S3 (Effort)
Emma consistently shows amazing effort in all her work, recently I discovered her AMAZING talent of knowing flags and what countries they are from! she knows them all! She is a STAR in every way and a pleasure to have in the classroom.

Senior Student Study Resources
This is a reminder that in addition to revision work and tasks on Google Classroom, additional work/learning can be accessed using Scholar UK, Achieve, E-sgoil and the National E-Learning offer Senior Phase (S4-S6).
