Important Information Out this Week:
S4/5/6 Changes to Recommended Level of Study
All students should have received their likely levels sheet detailing their recommended levels for further study for those progressing into S5 and S6 as well as a note of any advised changes to their current levels in the subjects they are sitting this year. Some S6 students also received a letter if their teachers were recommending changes to their levels of presentation this year. The deadline for responding to these changes is Friday 17th March, thereafter we will progress with any proposed changes unless we have received correspondence from you. If you have any queries about your child’s level of study this year please contact us as soon as possible

Parental Engagement Strategy
The Parental Engagement Strategy was launched in 2017 and aims to ensure that all Parents/Carers are encouraged and supported to engage as partners in their children’s learning, and to become involved in the life of the school. The strategy also ensures that it can continue to build on good practice and create further opportunities for our parents and schools to work together. There are 6 strands to the strategy and we are seeking responses to evaluate the impact of each of them. The Full strategy document is available at Parental Engagement Strategy | Parental Involvement | East Lothian Council.
Parental Engagement Strategy – Questions for Parents: Parents only need to complete one survey if they have multiple children at your school, but will need to complete more than one survey for children at different schools. The survey results will be collated on a school basis which will be shared with the HT and Chair of the Parent Council to support any actions arising shortly after the closure of the surveys.

Your DGSA Need You!
The DGSA is the fundraising group of the Parent Council and needs your help more now than ever! Our current Chair, Treasurer and other members are leaving after many years as their children will be moving on from school – so we desperately need new members to take the group forward!
As school budgets are stretched to the limit, we help by raising much needed funds to purchase equipment and create opportunities which support and enhance the educational experience of all our students at DGS.
Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds to support the school, funding school trips and equipment for art, science, sports, maths, music, tech, home economics, learning support, drama, Duke of Edinburgh and much more.
We couldn’t do this without our lovely group of parent and carer volunteers! We are all juggling busy lives with work and family but every little helps so even if you can only spare a couple of hours once a year it will make a huge difference and all our children will benefit!
If you can join us please email admin@dunbargrammar.elcschool.org.uk and we will get in touch with you.
THANK YOU
