The STARS of the week are……..
Staff
Eric Fraser (PE)
Nominations said…….
‘Mr Fraser is probably my favourite teacher, he’s so helpful and supportive’
‘Mr Fraser is an amazing teacher but he also helped me a lot because I was very sad about something that happened in school and Mr Fraser had time to talk to me about it and reassure me and look out for me. I think everyone would benefit from having him as their teacher.’
‘Mr Fraser encouraged the senior girls to go all out and play capture the flag in PE. We had a great time and he reminded us how fun sport can be. He truly cares about his pupils, transferring his enthusiasm towards sport and effort to them. He makes every student feel valued and is very open minded. WE LOVE YOU MR FRASER!!!’
‘he cares.’
An email from a parent said……..
‘My young person is having a very difficult time at the moment. Mr Fraser, had a talk with them and they felt appreciated and treated with respect and understanding, he gave them encouragement and good advice. They were so emotional and grateful for his support.
Please consider Mr Fraser for Star Teacher of Week.’
Eric– you are a DGS Star, thank you for all you do!
Students
Naina Chandran S1 (Support) – 2 nominations!
I wanted to click all our values with respect to my nomination of Naina. She really is an exemplary pupil in all respects. Always enthusiastic, willing to push herself in everything she does. A new pupil joined Naina’s C class recently and Naina immediately took to looking after her and help her settle in to the group. Naina really is a star at DGS.
Naina is one of the most striking personalities I have met at DGS. She never gives up on her peers, will subtly point them in the right direction and help them make the right choices. She shows maturity and compassion at her every move and never expects anything in return. Her kindness and incredibly polite and respectful manner are heart-warming and deeply encouraging. Thank you for your resilience, effort, and support, Naina.
Rowan Macrae S3 (Effort)
Rowan’s work (and brain!) never ceases to amaze me. Her ability to memorise information is beyond impressive. I usually only have to explain a biology concept once and she will be able to recall the information perfectly, sometimes weeks after I first told her about it! In class, she always focuses 100% in class, listening carefully, and regularly volunteering for answers, which I truly appreciate. Rowan is also a great Netball player, especially as a GS (her favourite position), rarely missing a goal (I also think she is an amazing centre player but I probably would have to convince her of that!). Rowan, you are a superstar and I am very proud of being your teacher. Please keep this great work up!
