Battlefields Experience 2024 for S3 Students

Thank you to all our S3 parents, carers and students who attended the Battlefields Experience Information Evening.

Information/Slides from the evening will be emailed to all S3 Parents/Carers shortly.

Please complete the following form if you have not done so already, so that we can finalise numbers for Battlefields Experience 2024 for our S3 students.
Please complete it even if your young person is not going so that we know of this decision.

Art Folios from 2023 

Students can get their art portfolios back from the SQA at a cost of £3.91 and this is payable through School Shop in SchoolPay.  The deadline for paying is 26 September.

Sorcha Calder (S3) Effort
Sorcha raised over £1000 for Cancer Research by skateboarding 100 miles in August. A truly epic effort! To complete a challenge like this takes great grit and determination which Sorcha has proven to have. What an incredible achievement, go Sorcha!
Sandy Napier (S3) Effort
Sandy is a great student to have in class. He answers questions enthusiastically, and is always looking to check and improve his work. He is hardworking and a real DGS STAR. Well done

Lost Property

Lost property is starting to rapidly build up.  Please ensure your young person’s clothes are labelled.  If students have lost their property, please ask them to see Ms Smith at break on Tuesday to Friday at the school office

Dunbar Grammar School Council

The DGSC is a group comprising parents, the Headteacher, Deputy Head teacher and Teacher representatives, Pupil representatives, Local Councillors and Clerk. Dunbar Music Festival
Dunbar Music Festival is happening once again from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 September 2023.
There are lots of opportunities to enjoy a wide range of music, with 36 gigs happening in 16 venues.
If you want to enjoy sessions with your family, some gigs worth looking out for are:
The ELJam Youth Bands Showcase around Saturday lunchtime at the Parish Hall includes several bands from Dunbar Grammar as well as talent from other high schools across the county
Three great gigs in Lauderdale Park Saturday and Sunday with refreshments available from Wishing Tree Cafe
Shunpike Social Club – a 30 piece brass ensemble on the move in Lauderdale
Two laid back acoustic sessions at Dunbar Garden Centre
Martha Cornish performing solo at The Dolphin Inn
Many more gigs are happening day and night in pubs and hotels across town.
Depending on the time of the gig and your age, some of these may be suitable to enjoy as a family.
