The McDonald’s Management Degree Apprenticeship combines experience, education and a salary. At McDonald’s, students can earn while they learn. Bringing together on-the-job training, our training curriculum and a BA (Hons) degree, we’re shaping the next generation of outstanding McDonald’s managers.
Our School Leaver Degree Apprenticeship lasts five years and gives young people the opportunity to follow a structured training programme. It leads to valuable qualifications including a Level 3 Apprenticeship (Hospitality Supervisor) and then the opportunity to gain a BA (hons) degree in Business Management and Retail from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and chartered manager status with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Students will find themselves doing a huge variety of things, including rolling up their sleeves in the kitchen, front counter and drive-thru, but as they progress, they will also learn to take management decisions, get involved in rotas and recruitment, and keep an eye on budgets.
From Year 2 of the programme they’ll get the opportunity to spend three to four day residential blocks on campus at MMU completing theoretical modules of the programme as well as following the McDonald’s management curriculum.
They will gain loads of practical experience and progress through different management roles. They will help make real business decisions and could even go on to manage their own restaurant!
To apply they’ll need to have 104–112 UCAS points (A level grades BCC – BBC) or equivalent alternative qualifications. They will also need specific GCSE grades of C or 4 in English and maths. (Level 2 Functional Skills English and maths are also accepted.)
