Welcome back after the holidays and we hope that your children were all able to start using their passports and try out the website. We are aware that some of the out of school activities taking place around Dunbar are not yet included. For all the parents who have emailed school asking for assistance then please be reassured that we have passed on your queries to Callum Maguire at Queen Margaret University. His team oversee and accredit any activities outwith schools for Lothian and Borders. We are able to accredit school clubs but not external ones.
Please contact Callum if you are accessing any clubs that are not aware of this new initiative and would like to be included. Callum would then take forward the accreditation and add to website lists.
Callum would need to know
- Name of Activity
- Where it takes place
- When it takes place
- How long it lasts for and
- Ideally a contact name/email.no. for the activity
Please feel free to contact him with any queries/questions and as many clubs and activities that you know of. His email address is CMaguire@qmu.ac.uk
We will be looking at the after school activities and break/lunch clubs in the near future as they begin to get up and running. Gareth Hill, our Active Sports Coordinator will also be working closely with us. We hope to identify a Children’s University day each term where your child will be able to bring their passport into school and celebrate their learning with the rest of their class. We will also use time during some assemblies throughout the year to share our experiences and encourage more pupils to sign up.
Please feel free to contact the staff below, who are responsible for leading this initiative within school, with any further queries you may have.
- Elaine Albano (Principal Teacher), Heather Robertson (P7 Class teacher) Sheena Saddler (P2 Class teacher) and Charlotte Jordan (P1 Class teacher)
Please email Dunbar Primary School and your queries will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member.
