Read-a-thon Online Activities

World Book Day took place on Thursday 1st March 2012 and there’s some great resources online that you might want to use with your child during Read-a-thon week.

They have resources from Nursery – Secondary and include online games, quizzes, word searches, puzzles, competitions and much more! (includes Beast Quest, Tracey Beaker, Katie Morag, Dr Who, Horrible Histories, Maisy, Diary of a Wimpy Kid etc).  Best thing is – they are all FREE!

Just click on and choose Nursery or Primary.  You can search for a book your child is reading at the moment or just do a general ‘View all resources’ search.

Regional Sports Hall Champions

The P6&7 indoor athletics team attended the East of Scotland Regional Sports Hall Finals this week. They competed against 10 other teams from Edinburgh, East, Mid and West Lothian and the Borders and came back as champions! They showed great determination and team work and were a credit to themselves and the school. Well done to everyone who took part, you are all stars…and well done Mrs Lyle for all your hard work!

Indoor Athletics Champions!

The Primary 7 Athletics team (& Jack P6) were competing in the East Lothian Indoor Athletics competition yesterday at Meadowmill. After a closely fought competition against 7 other schools, Dunbar were crowned champions, beating defending champions Campie by 5points! The children all worked extremely hard, showing great team work and determination! They were a credit to themselves and the school. The team will now go on to represent East Lothian in the regional finals at Meadowbank in February. Well Done Everyone!!

S1 Lochend Campus Visit

We were happy to welcome back a group of S1 pupils from Dunbar Grammar on Friday when they came down for a tour of the new campus.

They were very impressed with the school and particularly liked the dance studio and changing rooms in the gym hall!

It was really nice to see you all!  We’re glad you enjoyed the tour 🙂

Great Job Primary 7!

Today we welcomed Mike Russell (Education Minister) to the school for the official opening.  The P7 ‘meeter and greeter’ team took lots of very important people on tours around the new campus and the P7 media group took lots of photos and videos of the event.

The Primary 7’s involved really enjoyed their responsibilities and had lots of positive feedback from visitors, commenting particularly on how polite they were and also about their maturity.  Well done to all involved!!

Max from P7 got the opportunity to interview the minister for our DVD!
