WELCOME FROM THE NEW PARENT COUNCIL TEAM

A warm and friendly hello to the Parent Council Page from the newly appointed team of Siobhan Thomas (Chair) with both Helen Schoen and Hannah McCarroll as Vice Chairs. It is an exciting time for the Parent Council which has been spectacularly invigorated by Helen Schoen and her team over the past two years, paving the way for continued success in funding extras and supporting our children’s education.

This year we look forward to supporting more interactive use of the school and parent council web pages, and we will try to keep you updated regularly on the upcoming events.

Please look out for the school calendars at Parents Evenings and if your child is in Nursery they will also have drawn a picture of themselves to be included. The calendars will also be available for the Nursery families so keep an eye out and don’t miss these useful family items complete  your child’s self portrait.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DUNBAR PRIMARY PARENT COUNCIL

Including donations from many supportive firms for IT equipment and our own fundraising activities, more than £16,000  came into the Parent Council  in the last academic year. This was invested in maths resources, support for bereaved pupils, building blocks, sports equipment, outdoor learning resources, training for new playground activities, artists to work with pupils, chrome tablets, books and more.
The Council URGENTLY needs a new Chair and Deputy Chair to continue this great work for your children. Contact the school office or helenschoen@hotmail.co.uk to find out more.
The following meeting dates have been agreed in the hope a new team will come forward.
Monday September 9, Monday October 28, Monday December 2.

FOR ALL P1 PARENTS

A special coffee morning just for P1 parents and their families, involving chat and some children’s activities, is taking place in the John Muir campus school hall on Saturday August 31 between 10.30am  and 12 noon.
This is an informal opportunity to meet other people from the year. Entry is free, donations are welcome towards  refreshments on the day, and there is a 25p tombola to help fund the event next year. If you are able to provide home baking or biscuits for the event please leave with the school office on Friday August 30 or bring on the day. Please join us.
