- Meeting to start planning Christmas fundraising event at Hallhill tonight, 7.30pm. Happy to see folk who fancy pitching in.
Dunbar Primary School needs more iPads to support learning. They are an increasingly important tool for working with pupils at an individual level and for recording what happens in the classroom without breaching data protection rules. They currently have one per year group (seriously.)
The Parent Council will be working with pupils to write to companies and ask them if they are able to help fund one or more iPads. I would be grateful for suggestions of firms we could approach, either in this thread or to my email firstname.lastname@example.org. Unfortunately reconditioned IT equipment cannot be accepted.
Boxes for vouchers will be placed in the foyers at the two campuses and at Knox Newsagents. We have until Nov 18 to collect 3500 tokens. Let’s do it!

Could anyone help stick the Dunbar Primary school calendar this coming Friday morning (Sept 7)? We really need volunteers. Meet in the foyer at John Muir campus after drop off or join us in the canteen when you can. It’s a fun job, sociable job, but we really need folk to pitch in. Thanks so much for helping.
Next Monday (27th August) is the AGM of the parent council. Please come and share your thoughts about priorities for the school year ahead. 7pm John Muir Campus, library. All welcome. If you have never been before, do pop in. Helen Schoen

Message from Dunbar Primary Parent Council
Huge thank you from us to everyone for your contributions this year. The school fair raised a fantastic £3190. At our last meeting we agreed to invest £1000 in IT equipment for the school and to give every year group £100 to spend on new resources they feel they need. We also backed a request for £1000 to provide high quality, durable building blocks for the nursery and £250 for the John Muir court yard garden.
Our annual general meeting will take place on Monday August 27. All parents and carers are welcome. Look forward to seeing you there (if not before in the aisles of Asda).
Delighted to reveal that this year’s school summer fair raised £3190 for the school. That is clear profit, not takings, and a lovely sum to be able to invest in Dunbar Primary. Please come to the parent council meeting next Monday (John Muir campus library, 7pm) and share your thoughts on where you might like to see money spent. We will also talk about ideas for next year. What would you like to see discussed at our meetings? What would you like us to organise? Any feedback on this year’s fundraising?
The next parent council meeting is Monday June 18, 7pm, John Muir library. All parents welcome. This is a nice end of year meeting, so well worth coming along if you can make it.
Please click on agenda below.
We would love people to bake treats for the school fair next Saturday (26th). Please drop off cakes, tray bakes, biscuits etc in the school hall, ideally before 12.30pm on the day. Free entry into our beachcombing competition for those who donate. Thank you lovely bakers!
