Keeping Parents Informed

This group focuses on

  • Regularly updating the Parent Council website with email alerts and maintaining links with other relevant websites e.g. school, grammar school, East Lothian Education etc.
  • Producing regular newsletters, distributed via email and online
  • Setting up and running a Parent Council Facebook and / or Twitter Pages
  • Supporting the school using emails and Group Call texts to remind parents of important events or to appeal for volunteers for specific activities
  • Producing promotional posters for events well in advance and making the best use of the Parent Council Notice boards at both campuses
  • Producing “Parent-to-Parent Guides” for each year, from Ante Pre School up to P7, posted online and notifying parents of each group at start of every school year
  • Producing a “Parent-to-Parent Welcome Pack” for families joining the school during the school year (paper copy & online)
  • The targeted use of Survey Monkey as required
  • Liaising with East Lothian Education Department re their plans for “Community Involvement Policy”
