Childcare Choices Becomes a Family Information Service
The Childcare Information Service has now become a Family Information Service in line with the Scottish Government’s Early Years Framework (December 2008)
Families will now be able to access not only information on childcare and pre school education but also a range of information / advice on:
- Local Activities for Children and Families
- Local and national support services
- Parenting
- Paying for Childcare
- Local events in your area
The early years framework was introduced in December 2008 and states that:
“We believe the way forward is for Childcare Information Services to become Family Information Services and act as a gateway for a range of advice that parents may need”
In response to this many Childcare Information Services have developed their provision into Family Information Services by increasing the range of information they provide.
